Record-breaking InstallerSHOW last month

A record number of visitors flocked to the NEC  to visit InstallerSHOW last month, for the UK’s largest gathering of professionals involved in the installation, specification and implementation of net zero products and services.

Just under 10,000 people attended the event – featuring the elemental content theatres – keen to talk to over 300 exhibitors and attend the comprehensive programme of seminars, debates, demos and panel discussions.

MD Mike Costain said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this year’s InstallerSHOW, and it is a real testament to the hard work of the team as well as our fantastic exhibitors and partners. The event has gone from strength to strength and we’re already planning an even bigger and better event for 2023.”

Lord Callanan, the UK business & energy minister, addressed visitors to the show with a video on the first day about the scale of the challenge we face on the route to net zero, as well as highlighting the progress made so far including the Public Sector Decarbonisation Fund.

There were over 100 speakers sharing their knowledge and inspiring the audience during InstallerSHOW, including a keynote from environmental campaigner Jonathon Porritt, as well as plenty of opportunities to learn about how to tackle the key issues facing the industry when it comes to energy and heat, including a new feature for 2022 – Installing the Future. NOW! – that focused on hands-on demos of technologies including EV charging points and solar PV.

The event included two content theatres run by BEAMA and BESA, featuring CPD-accredited seminars and discussions for built environment professionals covering everything from hi-tech housing to indoor air quality. Elsewhere at the show, content highlights included a debate on how the trades can become more inclusive, panel discussions on community energy options for local authorities, a showcase of the Energy Superhub Oxford project and a debate on how to hit heat pump targets.

Visitors could also discover the latest green technology, including in the Wates Innovation Zone, with demos from a host of extensively vetted suppliers who can offer genuine, market-leading sustainable technology to help in the design, construction, maintenance and use of buildings.

Ian Taylor, Managing Director, Conventions & Exhibitions, NEC Group, said: “We were simply blown away by this year’s InstallerSHOW. Despite the rail strikes, this energetic, content-rich show attracted large numbers of industry heavyweights and had such a buzz about it for the whole three days. We can’t wait to bring this event to Hall 5 next year as we look to support the team in growing the event.”

InstallerSHOW 2023 will run from 27-29th June at the NEC – for more info visit
